Structure:

Include your full name, address, work email and mobile number

Use paragraphs to create each section
Sections Required:

Personal Statement - Include a few lines about yourself

Education - In reverse chronological order, start with your most recent educational level (Eg: Degree - A Levels - GCSE's). This should also include the institutions name and the grades you achieved at each level

Work Experience - In reverse chronological order, start with your most recent employers company, your role and the period in which you worked there (Eg: Jan 2019 - June 2020). If this role was not an industry specific role, mention 1-2 transferable skills you were exposed to with an example (Eg: Clear Communication, Team Work and Leadership). However, if the role is relevant work experience/internship (Eg: Accounts Assistant OR Business Management Placement), it is important to mention your key achievements and display how the company benefited from your work

Achievements & Hobbies - This section allows you to display your personality to perspective employers, in order for them to get to know you. Examples include - Student of the Year Award, Participating in the National Citizen Service (NCS) or independently learning coding programmes
A Cover Letter is an extension of your CV and allows you to explain why you are applying for a specific role and why your skill set aligns with the job description provided by the company.
Introduction:
Provide a brief summary of who you are, including your most recent educational level and the institution where you studied and the role you have applied for
First Section:
You need to focus on why you want to work for this particular company. Conducting research will allow you to understand the company's values and mission statement. Websites such as GlassDoor provide an insight into the work culture of a company and also includes what current and ex employees think of the company. Highlighting 1-2 points from your research will aid you in explaining why you want to work for this company
Second Section:
You need to focus on the role and why you have applied for it. It is important to analysis the job description and effectively highlight the main skills required by the company. For example, if the role requires a candidate to have Accounting software knowledge, mention the completion of any online courses or relevant past experience
Third Section:
You need to focus on key achievements and your personality. Again, the job description will include specific skills and traits that you can link to your own examples
Conclusion:
In the conclusion mention how you are grateful for the recruiter reading your letter, and don't state anything new other than maybe a brief summary and that your CV is attached and you look forward to hearing back from them.
